What you'll do

  • Process payroll accurately. Produce your assigned stream of the native Dutch payroll cycle in-house each period; accurate, compliant, and on time.
  • Process and check employee payroll master data — new hires, terminations, salary changes, variable pay, benefits, absences, and garnishments (loonbeslag) — following defined procedures and flagging anything unclear or that looks off.
  • Run pre- and post-payroll validations each cycle; check your own work carefully, and flag anything that doesn't look right before issues reach team members, customers, or Finance.
  • Handle all statutory filings & accesses. monthly loonaangifte filings to the Belastingdienst, UWV wage declarations, and the annual jaarloonopgaaf, filing of Ziektewet and WAZO reimbursement claims with UWV, owning the retrieval and maintenance of employee loonheffingskorting data: you follow established procedures for these activities and flag anything that looks off. You'll support the setup and maintenance of required government accesses as directed.
  • Follow defined steps to help maintain the in-house payroll system, test legislative updates before they go live as directed, and flag issues or ideas to your team lead or our Product team.
  • Run payroll end-to-end for native Portuguese payroll cycles
  • Process and check employee payroll master data including hires, terminations, salary changes, variable pay, benefits, absences, and garnishments
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll validations and quality controls each cycle
  • Handle statutory filings and accesses: monthly IRS withholding declarations, DMR to Segurança Social, annual Modelo 10, subsídio de doença and parental reimbursement claims
  • Support setup and maintenance of required government accesses
  • Follow payroll system procedures and test legislative updates as directed
  • Learn and follow Portuguese tax, social security, labor law, and CCT as applicable
  • Check payroll journals and GL mappings and flag data integrity issues
  • Handle assigned client payroll tickets and escalate when necessary
  • Help prepare statutory and ad-hoc reports including EU Pay Transparency Directive and Comissão de Trabalhadores documentation
  • Provide data and documentation for audits
  • Follow SOPs, share knowledge, and support peers

What they require

  • 1–3 years running native (in-house) payroll processes for the Netherlands, comfortable independently handling a defined volume of payslips per month.
  • Hands-on AFAS and / or Nmbrs by Visma and / or Loket.nl processing experience.
  • Completed the Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie (PDL) and/or NIRPA Register Salarisadministrateur (RSa) registration.
  • Working knowledge of Dutch wage tax, social insurance, and labor law, with a willingness to build deeper expertise over time.
  • Comfortable handling assigned client queries and escalating anything beyond your scope with clear context; balancing careful, accurate work with a genuine customer-first mindset.
  • 1–3 years running native (in-house) payroll processes for Portugal
  • Hands-on experience with Portuguese payroll software Cegid (Primavera or PHC) and/or Sendys (essential)
  • Completed a recognized accounting/payroll qualification (e.g. Contabilista Certificado) and/or dedicated payroll processing certification
  • Working knowledge of Portuguese wage tax, social insurance, and labor law
  • Portuguese at C1/C2 for interaction with authorities and fluent English for global collaboration
  • Comfortable handling client queries and escalating appropriately
  • Detail-oriented with ability to check own work and flag issues
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first environment
