What you'll do

  • Convert approved designs (Figma / Adobe XD / PSD) into responsive, pixel-accurate WordPress themes.
  • Build and customize WordPress themes and child themes, front-end (HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript) and back-end (PHP, WordPress APIs).
  • Develop custom functionality: custom post types, taxonomies, and fields using ACF (Advanced Custom Fields); build or extend custom plugins.
  • Build and maintain Arabic / RTL and bilingual sites, correct RTL layouts, Arabic fonts/typography, and multilingual setups (e.g. WPML / Polylang).
  • Work with page builders where relevant (Elementor, Gutenberg / block editor) and know when to build custom instead.
  • Build and maintain WooCommerce stores where required.
  • Optimize sites for speed, Core Web Vitals, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Apply WordPress security best practices; keep core, themes, and plugins updated and safe.
  • Handle site migrations, staging-to-live deployments, backups, and basic hosting/DNS tasks.
  • Debug and resolve theme, plugin, and performance issues across the existing site portfolio.
  • Use Git for version control and collaborate with the team on a shared workflow.
  • Coordinate with designers, project managers, and the SEO team so builds are on-brief, on-time, and SEO-friendly.

What they require

  • 3–5 years of hands-on WordPress development experience, ideally in an agency or multi-site environment.
  • Native Arabic (read & write) with the ability to build and QA Arabic/RTL and bilingual websites; strong English for team communication.
  • Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (and jQuery), responsive design.
  • Strong WordPress back-end skills: PHP, MySQL, WordPress theme & plugin APIs, hooks/filters.
  • Hands-on experience with ACF, custom post types, and custom fields.
  • Experience taking a design file and producing a clean, faithful, responsive WordPress build.
  • WooCommerce experience.
  • Familiarity with page builders (Elementor and/or Gutenberg blocks).
  • Understanding of WordPress security, performance optimization, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Comfortable with Git and a collaborative development workflow.
  • Reliable remote worker, self-managing, communicative, and able to hit deadlines.
  • Preferred: Basic on-page SEO awareness (clean markup, schema, page speed).
  • Preferred: A portfolio of live WordPress and Arabic/RTL sites.
