What you'll do

  • Serve as the technical welding expert, partnering directly with customers to understand their welding processes, production challenges, and application requirements.
  • Perform hands-on welding demonstrations using a variety of welding processes and equipment to validate solutions and showcase product performance in real-world applications.
  • Demonstrate the features, benefits, and value proposition of welding equipment, filler metals, and automation solutions to customers through live demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle, supporting customer meetings, product evaluations, and solution development.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers by serving as a technical advisor, identifying opportunities to improve welding performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide application recommendations based on customer materials, welding procedures, joint configurations, and production requirements.
  • Deliver technical training to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams on welding equipment operation, best practices, safety, and process improvements.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product development, continuous improvement initiatives, and new product launches.
  • Support trade shows, customer events, open houses, and technical seminars by conducting live welding demonstrations and promoting new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with regional sales representatives, acting as a technical resource to accelerate sales opportunities and increase customer confidence.
  • Assist customers with procedure development, equipment selection, and implementation of new welding technologies to maximize return on investment.
  • Stay current on industry standards, welding codes, emerging technologies, and competitive products to provide expert guidance and technical recommendations.

What they require

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in welding and the welding industry.
  • Solid and proven competence in GMAW (MIG/MAG) – strong skills in manual welding, including open root.
  • Competency in GTAW (TIG) and MMAW/SMAW – medium to high competency.
  • SAW – meriting but not required.
  • Experience with automated or robotic welding is highly valued.
  • Practical experience in industries such as shipbuilding, general manufacturing, automotive, or pipeline welding.
