What you'll do

  • Own senior client relationships directly, driving strategic coverage plans and serving as a trusted advisor to developers, IPPs, utilities, manufacturers, and sponsors across the full capital stack — including M&A, debt, tax equity, and transferable tax credits.
  • Help drive origination, structuring, and execution of M&A advisory mandates, including sell-side processes, valuation analysis, buyer/seller outreach, and deal negotiation.
  • Support and increasingly help drive debt origination and advisory work across construction, term, back-leverage, tax equity bridge, and other structured debt products, partnering closely with Structuring and Capital Coverage on lender engagement and terms negotiation.
  • Apply deep market intelligence and product knowledge to advise clients on M&A and debt opportunities across the clean energy capital stack.
  • Build engagement with senior stakeholders at client organizations, while mentoring junior team members on relationship-building and deal execution.
  • Own the development of M&A- and debt-specific client-facing materials, including CIMs, teasers, buyer/lender lists, process trackers, valuation analyses, and financial models.
  • Help manage transaction execution workstreams for M&A and debt mandates, including diligence oversight, process management, and coordination with legal, financial, and technical advisors.
  • Drive client onboarding and ongoing engagement strategy with Crux's software and Intelligence platforms.
  • Champion customer feedback into Product, Operations, and software teams to shape Crux's platform roadmap.
  • Contribute thought leadership on M&A and debt market trends to Market Intelligence content, and represent Crux at webinars, industry events, and conferences.
  • Help grow an established book of business; drive strategy for nurturing and expanding buyers, investors, and lenders through the customer lifecycle.
  • Serve as a senior strategic resource to clients throughout the M&A and debt transaction lifecycle.
  • Educate and advise buyers, investors, and lenders on risk, proactively resolving transaction issues before they threaten deal timelines.
  • Support new business development for M&A and debt mandates through conferences, networking, outreach, and other creative channels.
  • Build and maintain credibility and senior relationships with key contacts at corporates, family offices, accounting and tax firms, investment banks, and lenders.

  • Deep expertise in at least one of M&A advisory or debt capital markets, with working knowledge of the other.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including M&A valuation methodologies (DCF, precedent transactions, comps) and/or debt structuring analysis (cash flow modeling, credit metrics, covenant analysis).
