The Venture Capital CFO plays a critical role in driving financial performance, managing investor relations, and shaping the strategic direction of the firm to achieve its investment objectives and maximize investor asset value.

What you'll do

  • Oversee all financial operations of the venture firm, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Manage valuation processes for all direct and fund of fund investments.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, assess portfolio performance, and assist with strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with LPs, communicate fund performance, and address investor inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and optimize financial resources to maximize returns for investors.
  • Assist with management company operations including payroll, benefits, insurance, and line of credit.
  • Work with tax provider on preparation and review of tax returns including K-1s.
  • Manage the audit process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of audit reports.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact investment strategies or fund operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Set performance goals, provide feedback, and support career development initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and individual growth.

  • CPA required
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Experience in venture capital
  • Public Accounting experience, preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Accounting or Finance degree required
  • Extremely organized workflow
  • Hands on experience with working, training, and coaching staff
