What you'll do

  • Provide Independent Engineering advisory support for Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) Program technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities.
  • Perform reservoir characterization, reserves estimation, decline analysis, development planning, and production sustainability assessments.
  • Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks and mitigations, and validate assumptions.
  • Prepare defensible work products including reservoir models, reserve reports, type curves, production forecasts, and field development evaluations.
  • Support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews where applicable.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to support lender and DOE decision-making.
  • Participate in data room reviews, borrower/contractor interviews, site observations, monthly monitoring meetings, risk register updates, CP evidence reviews, draw package checks, issue closure tracking, and preparation of Independent Engineer reports.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience; demonstrated work on oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • Experience with reserve estimation, production forecasting, subsurface uncertainty assessment, and reservoir performance validation.
  • Independent engineering review experience and familiarity with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) - style documentation and technical due diligence.
  • Ability to convert technical, construction, compliance, operating, commercial, and risk findings into lender-ready due diligence, monitoring, certification, and decision-support outputs.
  • Strong technical judgment, independence/objectivity, analytical rigor, attention to detail, and defensible documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio; ability to quickly learn other tools as needed.
  • Schedule discipline, client service orientation, cross-functional collaboration, and clear presentation/report-writing skills.
  • Security clearance is a valuable asset and a requirement for some federal engagements; Area Clearance/Background checks referenced.
