ROLE OVERVIEW:
The role is predominantly focused on post-instruction legal work, including reviewing contract documentation, raising enquiries, preparing reports on title and managing pre-completion tasks. All legal work will ultimately be reviewed by a UK Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer before completion.
Alongside the conveyancing work, you'll also assist with general administration, including file management and archiving completed matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review residential conveyancing contract packs. Raise pre-contract enquiries on purchase transactions. Review replies to enquiries and identify outstanding issues. Draft comprehensive Reports on Title for residential purchases. Prepare replies to enquiries on residential sale files. Carry out pre-completion Land Registry searches. Draft completion statements and client statements of account. Prepare and submit Notices of Transfer and Charge. Obtain management pack requirements from managing agents. Liaise with solicitors, estate agents, management companies and third parties where required. Maintain accurate case records within the firm's case management system. Archive completed files once transactions have completed and ledgers have been cleared. Support the wider legal team with additional conveyancing and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience working in UK Residential Conveyancing.
Experience reviewing contract packs and raising enquiries. Experience reviewing replies to enquiries. Experience drafting Reports on Title. Experience preparing completion statements. Familiarity with Land Registry searches and post-completion processes. Excellent understanding of the residential conveyancing process from instruction through to completion. Excellent written and spoken English. High attention to detail. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Desirable
Previous experience working remotely for a UK law firm. Experience using UK conveyancing case management systems. Experience dealing with leasehold transactions. Understanding of SDLT and Land Registry post-completion requirements. Legal qualification or Paralegal qualification.
