What you'll do

  • Review course modules, scripts, slide decks, and participant materials to ensure respectful, strengths-based, and culturally responsive representation of Native American and Alaska Native populations.
  • Ensure instructional content incorporates principles of cultural safety, trauma-informed care, and whole-person, culturally grounded healthcare approaches relevant to Tribal communities.
  • Review course materials for alignment with current Indian Health Service (IHS) guidance, Tribal healthcare practices, Tribal governance principles, and other Tribal-specific regulatory or operational considerations relevant to the educational content.
  • Provide expert guidance on evolving Indian Health Service guidance, Tribal health policies and practices, Tribal governance practices, and other developments affecting Tribal health systems.
  • Collaborate directly with MedTrainer’s Instructional Designers, Regulatory Research Specialists, and Learning Directors to refine course objectives and learning outcomes.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, education, social services, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and substantial professional experience in Tribal healthcare, Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal governance, or Native health programs.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Tribal healthcare operations, healthcare compliance, public health, clinical practice, healthcare administration, or culturally responsive healthcare delivery.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience working within or consulting for Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities, Tribally operated P.L. 93-638 contract/compact health programs, or Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs).
  • Experience reviewing, developing, implementing, delivering, or evaluating healthcare education, clinical guidance, quality improvement initiatives, or healthcare policies within Tribal healthcare settings.
  • Deep knowledge of IHS organizational structures, federal-Tribal healthcare relationships, and Tribal Data Sovereignty principles.
