What you'll do

  • Audit carrier invoices, accessorial charges, statements, and rate structures against established contracts, NMFC classification codes, and quote logs to ensure accurate payment processing.
  • Investigate and resolve billing exception reports, unmatched PRO numbers, order matching discrepancies, and GL coding errors.
  • Process, investigate, and dispute vendor chargebacks and shipping compliance errors.
  • Manage carrier freight claims, including necessary documentation and tracking issues through resolution.
  • Monitor freight aging reports, evaluate carrier accessorial requests, and manage line-item invoice disputes to ensure timely carrier payment and compliance.
  • Perform regular freight file data scrubs.
  • Execute monthly freight accrual audits to support accurate accounting and financial reporting.
  • Manage and prioritize daily incoming freight invoices and carrier inquiries.

What they require

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Proven freight auditing skills with demonstrated experience reviewing carrier invoices, rate cards, and billing exceptions.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and parcel carrier billing operations and documentation.
  • Preferred: Experience utilizing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Freight Audit & Pay (FAP) software platforms.
