Mechanical or aerospace engineer with a bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing, and heat transfer is a plus. Must have MS Office, knowledge of aircraft pneumatics systems and their modeling. Familiarity with CATIA V5 and programming languages like Fortran, Visual Basic, C/C++ is a plus. Good interpersonal and communication skills needed. Must be available for travel.

What you'll do

  • Support new aircraft program development and in service aircraft in all thermodynamics related issues.
  • These include aircraft ice/fog protection systems performance, zonal pressure, temperature and flowrate analysis, avionics cooling, and general thermal analysis of systems and structures.
  • It requires understanding of the systems that are being analyzed and how they interface with the aircraft and other aircraft systems.
  • It also requires communicating with internal systems/structures groups, system suppliers, and flight test teams to resolve issues, plan tests, analyze and certify modifications.
  • More specifically, this position is to help the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team support the activities related to bleed air systems (wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, etc.).
