U.S.-based tenure-track Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. in Criminology/Criminal Justice/Homeland Security/Security Studies or closely related field. Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to teach fully online (asynchronous/synchronous) and maintain an active research agenda. Will administer Criminal Justice minor, teach across undergraduate and graduate programs, and travel for mandatory meetings/commencement.

What you'll do

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Studies and related programs using asynchronous and synchronous online delivery.
  • Oversee the newly launched Criminal Justice minor and teach related courses.
  • Contribute to curriculum and program development.
  • Participate on departmental, college, and/or university committees.
  • Contribute to student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Maintain an exemplary level of research and scholarly activity and pursue an active, pertinent scholastic research agenda.
  • Travel to attend commencement, mandatory college meetings, and other relevant events.

What they require

  • Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Sociology, Security Studies or a related field.
  • Active, pertinent scholastic research agenda.
  • Willingness and ability to teach online (asynchronous and synchronous) and occasionally face-to-face if available.
  • Service contributions including committee participation and curriculum administration.
  • Preferred: specialization that complements department's research and teaching expertise (criminal justice, homeland security, or related area).
