What you'll do

  • Travel to customer locations, work directly with advanced equipment, troubleshoot real-world challenges, and provide solutions that keep operations moving.
  • Play a vital role in the installation, servicing, maintaining and auditing capital equipment within the paper and packaging industries.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical capabilities including PLC / HMI programming and troubleshooting, analyzing schematics and drawings, and leverage your knowledge of industrial automation and production operation to deliver committed product performance to improve our customer’s positive outcomes and experience with Alliance products.
  • Train customer employees in fundamental operation and maintenance procedures for Alliance equipment.
  • Improve company products, generate revenue, and provide value to the customer with the company’s ultimate good and reputation in mind.
  • Installs equipment and associated machinery as required by customer to interface with new or existing production line equipment.
  • Performs ring-out, reliable controls level calibration, commissioning troubleshooting and acceptance protocol ensuring equipment performs to specification.
  • Performs PLC and HMI programming logic independently and/or with Engineering for customer equipment installs, repairs and general maintenance.
  • Span of Equipment product knowledge includes at least four primary categories and can perform job duties equally well during installations, service calls or PM / Audits.
  • Demonstrate proficient understanding of primary categories of machinery, components, control systems, PLC programs - and overall sub-system interactions of Alliance equipment and can perform PM / Audits.
  • Serves as on-site supervisor/project manager for the installation and training of Alliance equipment.
  • Trains customer personnel on equipment functions, safety features to include safe working techniques, machine operation, operator interface devices, service requirements, accessibility, spare parts, and use of the operations manual.
  • Independently travel to customer sites to perform equipment service, installation work, and training - demonstrating a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of customer service.

What they require

  • Minimum of High School graduate or G.E.D.
  • Prefer an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, including Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years supervising, installing, and maintaining material handling equipment or other industrial machinery - with strong electrical/mechanical/PLC background.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Willing to travel 75% or more.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders, lift arms overhead, work overhead, good dexterity and range of movement in fingers and hands.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have good balance and lack fear of heights while working on ladders.
