We're looking for a Technical SEO Specialist to own organic search and AI search visibility for a data-first growth marketing agency serving e-commerce brands. You will work directly on technical audits, on-page optimization, content strategy, and AI answer engine optimization across a focused portfolio of e-commerce clients, with the goal of driving non-brand traffic, AI citation presence, and measurable revenue contribution.
This is a high-output, analytically rigorous role. The agency operates with a bottom-line obsession — every SEO initiative needs to connect to revenue, not just rankings. You will be expected to think like an operator, not just a technician. What You'll Work On
Technical SEO Audits and Implementation
Conduct comprehensive technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, and page speed Identify and resolve issues affecting organic visibility including redirect chains, duplicate content, canonicalization, and structured data errors Implement and optimize schema markup for products, reviews, FAQs, and AI answer engines Audit on-page fundamentals including title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, internal linking, and image optimization Prioritize fixes by revenue impact and translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
E-Commerce SEO
Optimize category pages, product pages, and collection structures for organic search performance and conversion Develop keyword strategies aligned with buyer intent across the full e-commerce funnel Support site migrations, platform changes, and redesigns with a clear SEO preservation plan Collaborate with development and design teams to ensure SEO requirements are implemented correctly
AI Answer Engine Optimization
Develop strategies to get clients cited and recommended in AI-generated responses across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude Structure content with clear definitional formats, comparison frameworks, and direct-answer layouts that AI models surface Monitor AI platform presence and citation rates and adjust content strategy based on findings Stay ahead of how AI search behavior is evolving and bring proactive recommendations to the team
Content Strategy and Production Support
Build and manage content calendars targeting non-brand organic keywords and AI-answer queries Brief or write content that ranks, earns citations, and supports the buyer journey from awareness through conversion Identify content gaps across client sites and prioritize based on traffic potential, competition, and revenue opportunity
Reporting and Analytics
Report on organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, Core Web Vitals, AI citation presence, and revenue contribution Connect SEO performance to bottom-line outcomes using available analytics data Translate data into clear insights and prioritized next steps for both internal teams and clients
What You Bring
Proven experience managing technical SEO for e-commerce websites that generate organic traffic and revenue Strong technical SEO skills including the ability to run a full audit, identify root causes, and implement fixes Deep understanding of e-commerce site architecture including category hierarchies, faceted navigation, product page optimization, and pagination Familiarity with how AI answer engines work and what it takes to get content cited and surfaced Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalent Analytically rigorous with the ability to connect SEO work directly to revenue outcomes Comfortable working independently across multiple client accounts without losing quality or missing deadlines Strong written communication skills for client-facing reporting and internal documentation
Nice to Have
Experience with Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar e-commerce platforms at a technical level Familiarity with AI visibility tools such as Scrunch AI, Profound, or similar platforms Background in performance marketing or growth analytics alongside SEO Experience supporting site migrations or platform transitions with zero organic traffic loss Prior agency experience managing SEO across multiple e-commerce client accounts simultaneously
