What you'll do

  • Support building the systems that run SEO at scale - internal linking, sitemap and indexability lifecycle management, taxonomy, and automated content optimization across millions of URLs, multiple markets, and languages.
  • Write code and build your own tools. You won’t wait for an engineering sprint to answer a question - you’ll spin up scrapers, scripts, and internal dashboards (e.g. automating data pulls from Google Search Console beyond the UI’s limits) to get the data and leverage you need.
  • Work AI-natively. Use LLMs and automation as a default part of how you build, investigate, and scale - not as an afterthought.
  • Own crawl and indexation health on a high-URL-velocity site. Slice and dice server access logs, and build early-warning systems and dashboards that catch crawl anomalies, indexation drops, and regressions before they cost traffic.
  • Diagnose, measure, and instrument page speed pragmatically — from real user metrics and lab traces down to the network, rendering, and server layers. You can explain what is slow, why, and what is worth fixing.
  • Debug the weird stuff - rendering edge cases, redirect chains, CDN/edge behavior, bot-versus-user serving, caching bugs - across the full stack from browser to origin.
  • Co-design and run large-scale SEO experiments and turn results into rollout decisions.
  • Automate recurring SEO work so it runs without you, freeing you to work on higher-leverage problems.
  • Be the technical communicator between SEO and engineering - write clear specs, guide architectural decisions for SEO scalability and performance, and make the case to developers and stakeholders in language that they understand.
  • Support the SEO Product Managers with technical opportunity discovery, and requirement setting to ensure optimal implementation

What they require

  • 5+ years in technical SEO with proven organic growth results, including hands-on work on sites with 1M+ indexed URLs and high URL velocity
  • Experience working closely with engineers in an agile environment.
  • Ability to build - comfortable creating code (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript/Python/PHP) to build tools, automations, and scrapers.
  • Deep understanding of how the web works under the hood - HTTP, networking, servers, CDNs and edge compute (e.g. Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge), caching, redirects, rendering, and modern JS frameworks. Fluent in browser devtools.
  • Strong data skills - you can pull, join, and interrogate large datasets (access logs, GSC, crawl data, analytics) and build the dashboards and reports that support decisions.
  • A pragmatic growth mindset - you are an avid and quick learner but also know when to get out of a rabbit hole and execute.
  • Strong communication skills - you can take a gnarly technical SEO problem and make it clear and actionable for developers, product, and leadership.
