What you'll do

  • Produces detailed CAD drawings and 3D models for fabrication: shop and fabrication drawings, details, and bills of material, to an exacting standard
  • Details fabrication projects, translating engineering concepts and specifications into complete, accurate, buildable drawing packages
  • Prepares engineering submittals for vibration control, including product and application selections that meet the project’s specified criteria
  • Prepares engineering submittals for thermal control; riser and expansion schematics, and the design and selection of support systems (guides, anchors, and expansion devices) that meet the specified criteria
  • Reads and interprets construction drawings, specifications, and equipment data sheets to inform selections and details
  • Maintains revision control and CAD data management; keeps drawing records accurate, current, and organized
  • Applies drawing and detailing standards (e.g., GD&T, ANSI) and our internal conventions consistently, the same correct way every time
  • Sees each drawing package through from concept to release, confirming completeness and accuracy before it goes out
  • Works under the direction of the Senior Engineer and collaborates with the Applications team, project managers, and the shop floor

What they require

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on design experience
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD - AutoCAD and a modelling package (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and a willingness to learn our tools and standards
  • A working knowledge of drawing and detailing for manufacturing: fabrication and shop drawings, bills of material, and drawing standards
  • Experience in reading construction drawings, mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment data sheets
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; getting it exactly right is the job
  • Patience and focus for deep, detailed work, and pride in consistent, high-quality output
  • A methodical, disciplined approach; does things the correct way every time and works well within established standards
  • Reliability and follow-through; sees work through to completion and takes ownership of the details
  • An eagerness to learn our products and our vibration, thermal, and support-system knowledge over time
  • No prior background in vibration, thermal, or building mechanical systems is required.
  • All application-specific knowledge is trained in-house, and you will learn directly from our senior engineers and subject-matter experts.
