ArenaNet is looking for a Technical Artist (Contract) to build and improve tools and pipelines for artists, focusing on animation and cinematics, while providing day-to-day artist support.

What you'll do

  • Work with animation and cinematics to create and maintain tools that enable smooth content creation and iteration.
  • Build out and develop code libraries for other technical artists to use as they develop tools with you.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and refining tool workflows with both artists and engineers.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines to extend your tools into areas that would benefit from them.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in the game industry.
  • Strong understanding of Python, UMG, and Qt (or a similar UI library).
  • Experience working with and scripting in Maya.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 5.
