What you'll do

  • Develop and implement rigorous lessons aligned with the school's philosophy and standards.
  • Teach synchronously and asynchronously and co-teach in PBL afternoon Work Labs.
  • Monitor student academic progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement enrichments and remediation; follow all required IEP/504/GT/Special Program requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and disciplined virtual learning environment and address student behavioral issues.
  • Oversee student activities, clubs, and extracurricular programs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and school activities.
  • Utilize online learning platforms, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and maintain virtual classroom presence.
  • Monitor daily student engagement and attendance and communicate regarding disengagement.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and leadership; participate in PLCs and staff meetings.
  • Use student performance data to personalize instruction and differentiate learning pathways.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, engagement, communication logs, and intervention efforts.
  • Prepare classroom communications and participate in school-wide professional development.
  • Report to the principal and coordinate with a team of teachers for student growth and school development.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Teaching certificate in the subject area of application (current and valid Texas Educator Certificate required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience in either public or private (virtual learning a plus but not required).
  • Ability to travel as needed for program integrity and growth.
  • Ability to meet school deliverables.
  • Knowledge of education regulations and policies in Texas.
  • Eagerness to lead rich PBL classrooms.
