What you'll do

  • Prepare, review, and sign tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businesses
  • Create quarterly estimates and projections
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on matters related to income tax return delivery
  • Perform tax research
  • Respond accurately and on time to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis for tax and wealth management clients
  • Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and review correspondence
  • Stay up to date on tax law and changes
  • Communicate the effects of tax law changes to clients
  • Mentor a team of Senior Tax Associates, Tax Associates, and/or Tax Support Specialists in the local office or region as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

What they require

  • Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong tax code knowledge and general accounting skills
  • CPA and/or EA required
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Tax
  • Preferred: Experience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend
  • Highly organized and tax-oriented
  • Ability to handle a large volume of activities at one time
  • Ability to communicate concepts to clients and advisors in concise and understandable fashion
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent time-management skills
  • Availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM, and Saturdays as needed during tax season
  • May have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs
  • Must be able to work in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace free of interruptions
  • Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time
  • No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
