What you'll do

  • Works on semi-routine assignments related to surplus lines documentation, utilizes online systems to retrieve, organize, and deliver surplus lines filings.
  • Supports operational activities by working closely with branch offices and accounting team to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Helps the Surplus Lines teams during internal and external audits, ensuring requested documents and information are available and compliant.
  • Serves as a liaison for the Underwriting and brokerage team in day-to-day relations with Operations.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the account processes to ensure account servicing.
  • Stays informed about industry changes, company policies, and procedural updates and follows established procedures on routine work.
  • Participates in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge of surplus lines principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes timely surplus lines state tax returns using designated state forms and formulates respective checks and requests for payment of surplus lines tax if applicable.
  • Maintains filing systems for each policy, tracks critical dates and deadlines, and ensures documentation accessibility for audits and inquiries.
  • Works on semi-routine assignments related to surplus lines documentation, recognizing the accepted practices, utilizes online systems to retrieve, organize, and delivers surplus lines filings.
  • Supports operational activities by working closely with branch offices and accounting team to ensure proper procedures are followed within the Surplus Lines team.
  • Helps the Surplus Lines teams during internal and external audits, ensures that all requested documents and information are readily available and in compliance with audit requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison for the Underwriting and brokerage team in day-to-day relations with Operations to ensure all questions are answered and accounts are serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the account processes to ensure the ultimate account servicing is provided.
  • Stays informed about industry changes, company policies, and procedural updates, ensures compliance with established guidelines, and follows established procedures on routine work.
  • Participates actively in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge of surplus lines principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains filing systems for each policy, tracks critical dates and deadlines, and ensures readily accessible documentation for internal audits and external inquiries.

What they require

  • 1+ years of work experience in Surplus Lines or Business Operations preferred.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Operations or related field.
  • Ability to complete surplus lines state tax returns using designated state forms.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Work closely with branch offices, underwriting, brokerage, and accounting teams to ensure proper procedures and timely account servicing.
  • Participation in training and development related to surplus lines principles, policies, and procedures.
