What you'll do

  • Develop expert knowledge of all CNA Surety products and services to sell and educate agency customers
  • Conduct regular in-person sales calls to all agencies in assigned territory and schedule virtual contacts
  • Generate increased production by contacting agents and prospects per the Marketing Representative's Procedure Manual
  • Use solution-based selling to generate and increase premium with assigned agencies to meet quotas
  • Perform public relations to improve brand and product awareness and project a professional corporate image
  • Educate and train agents on agent automation services (Portal, bONdLINE, Direct Bill, ePay)
  • Manage territory logistics and maintain a rigorous schedule of daily/weekly virtual contacts and monthly in-person visits
  • Collaborate with leadership and underwriting on market alignment, sales and marketing plans
  • Gather and record agency and market intelligence for territory and key markets
  • Participate in industry and agency associations and monitor legislative activities affecting company operations
  • Utilize reporting to determine delinquent accounts and assist with accounts receivable collection

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically a minimum of three years’ experience in sales and/or marketing
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • Strong knowledge of insurance and surety industry practices
  • Accounting or business-related experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, sales and telephone skills
  • Ability to provide highest level of customer service and meet or exceed sales goals
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to work independently on multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed
