Subject Matter Expert – Media, Broadcasting & Information Services (English/Malayalam) – Remote

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for experienced Media and Information Services professionals to support a cutting-edge AI benchmarking project focused on Malayalam for Indian media, broadcasting, publishing, and digital content environments. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will create and review realistic, high-quality scenarios that reflect editorial, production, reporting, audiovisual, and content management challenges across newsrooms, broadcast studios, digital media platforms, and creative production environments. Your expertise will help ensure AI systems understand and respond accurately within fast-paced and content-driven industries.

WHAT YOU’LL DELIVER

• Design realistic Media and Information Services scenarios in Malayalam or English grounded in Indian operational contexts (e.g., newsroom coordination, video production workflows, editorial reviews, live broadcast operations, content planning, script development, media compliance, audiovisual troubleshooting)
• Adapt structured evaluation rubrics for editorial decision-making, content analysis, production coordination, and communication tasks
• Review AI and human-generated responses for factual accuracy, editorial quality, cultural appropriateness, and operational realism
• Contribute to “gold standard” solutions reflecting best practices across Indian journalism, broadcasting, digital media, and content production environments

QUALIFICATIONS

• Native-level Malayalam with strong professional English proficiency
• 5+ years of professional experience in Media, Broadcasting, Journalism, Content Production, Publishing, or Audiovisual Operations
• Background in one or more relevant roles: Audio/Video Production, Editing, Film & Video Editing, Journalism, News Reporting, Content Production, Directing, Broadcast Operations, or Media Management
• Strong understanding of editorial workflows, production processes, media standards, audience communication, and Indian media environments

What to Consider Before Applying

• Not ideal as a full time job or primary income source. Work availability fluctuates with project demand, making this better suited as a supplemental income stream. As a 1099 contractor, you won't receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions, and hours are not guaranteed.
• Requires reliable availability and commitment. Once you accept a task, we expect quality work and on-time delivery. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week. If your schedule is unpredictable, this may not be the right fit.
• Geographic restrictions may apply. We cannot engage contractors in regions subject to international embargo or sanctions. As a 1099 contractor, you are solely responsible for your own tax obligations. We recommend consulting a tax professional before engaging.
