AlphaHire is building a small group of senior strategic advisors and is currently looking for a Strategic Senior Advisor with significant government contracting experience.
Core skills
AlphaHire is building a small group of senior strategic advisors with deep operating experience in areas that matter to our next stage of growth.
We are currently looking for a Strategic Senior Advisor with significant government contracting experience .
AlphaHire provides workforce and execution intelligence for construction, infrastructure, energy, power, data centers, and other capital-intensive markets. We are also expanding our work with federal, state, and local government agencies and pursuing opportunities where our data, research, workforce intelligence, and subject-matter expertise can solve meaningful public-sector problems.
We are looking for someone who has operated inside the government contracting ecosystem and can help us avoid the mistakes companies make when entering or scaling in this market.
The experience we're looking for
Ideally, you have substantial experience with several of the following:
Federal, state, or large municipal government contracting Capture strategy and opportunity qualification RFP/RFQ/RFI evaluation and bid/no-bid decisions Proposal strategy and competitive positioning FAR/DFARS and government procurement processes IDIQs, BPAs, GWACs, GSA schedules, or similar contract vehicles Prime/subcontractor and teaming strategies Agency relationship development Contract compliance and post-award execution Professional services, research, analytics, workforce, infrastructure, technology, or consulting contracts Building or scaling a government contracting function
Experience as a government contracting executive, former contracting/procurement leader, capture executive, government practice leader, or senior operator at an established federal contractor would be particularly relevant.
Requirements
We want someone who can help us answer questions such as:
Which opportunities should we pursue — and which should we walk away from? Where are we likely to underestimate the government buying process? What capabilities do we need before pursuing larger contracts? When should we prime versus partner? What makes an agency take a newer entrant seriously? What mistakes create problems after an award? How should we build this capability without creating unnecessary overhead?
The strongest advisor will challenge our assumptions rather than simply tell us what we want to hear.
The role
This is a Strategic Senior Advisor relationship rather than a full-time operating position.
The expected commitment is limited and focused: periodic strategic conversations, review of selected opportunities or decisions, and introductions where you independently believe they make sense.
Where AlphaHire needs substantial execution—such as capture support, proposal development, contract strategy, or client work—that can be scoped separately as a paid engagement.
Who this is best suited for
Someone who has learned government contracting through actual execution and can translate that experience into practical judgment.
We care much more about what you have built, won, managed, and learned than an impressive title alone.
If this describes your background, we'd be interested in having a conversation.
