What you'll do

  • Own the technical architecture of the data systems and pipelines that ingest and transform the massive volume of data powering our products.
  • Your work spans multiple engineering teams and domains.
  • Gather requirements to realize the product and technical vision and to ingest and process the massive data sets we retrieve from third party systems
  • Map out our current architecture, analyze and design the required future architecture to meet these requirements
  • Help build, test, maintain, support and evolve the current and future architecture.
  • Regularly dive deep into code, operational tooling, cloud resources, logs, monitoring, data quality, to stay grounded in the day-to-day reality of data engineering work.
  • Proactively and continuously improve the architecture and systems design.
  • Set up and own standards and best practices in data engineering and data architecture at scale.
  • Be a trusted go-to technical authority for the data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and high quality.
  • Collaborate with the architects and leaders in other engineering and product teams, and in other parts of the organization to improve our organization’s architecture maturity.
  • Embed AI strategy in the Integrations architecture, and set the standard for how AI is applied across the department in architecture and engineering work.
  • Identify and prioritize AI initiatives across our pipelines, tooling and engineering workflows; design and pilot those solutions.

What they require

  • You come from a strong hands-on background in data engineering, with deep experience in ETL/ELT, data pipelines, complex data transformations, and data modelling.
  • Ideally, you have worked as a senior data engineer on various types of data architectures and pipelines at scale before transitioning to a data architect role.
  • You have proven experience as a data architect incl. on (cloud) systems level, ideally across multiple teams, domains or projects.
  • You have experience in a (data) integration context, where robustness, reusable connector and ingestion frameworks, external integration patterns like schema-drift detection, backfill and replay, idempotency are key.
  • You get energized from optimizing technical architectures, structure, tooling, support and other processes, and from designing future-proof architectures in a fast-moving environment.
  • You have a proactive, "can-do" attitude, viewing challenges as opportunities and inspiring a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • You excel at seeing the bigger picture, breaking down large architectural projects into clear, scoped technical initiatives.
  • You have strong knowledge of data cloud technologies, data-related services and systems (like Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Google Cloud Composer/Airflow), and cloud database solutions (like BigQuery, Spanner, Snowflake, or Databricks).
  • Professional proficiency in Python for large-scale data processing and pipeline development.
  • You are a forward-thinking architect who views AI as a core part of modern architecture.
  • You have hands-on experience in working with AI tools and agentic workflows to ship higher-quality work, faster.
  • You are fluent in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • We welcome Experience building integrations with third-party APIs and other external data sources.
  • Experience within the hospitality technology sector or similar industries (e.g. airline industry).
  • Not ticking every box? No problem! We value diverse backgrounds and unique skill sets, and we encourage individuals from all walks of life to apply. If your experience looks a little different from what we've described, but you're passionate about what we do and are a quick learner, we'd love to hear from you!
