What you'll do

  • Work as a software engineer
  • Maintain and expand a deep understanding of agentic coding
  • Design and build agentic coding systems that can deliver high-quality outputs
  • Design and implement Temporal AI SDK features supporting a broad variety of frameworks and libraries
  • Develop understanding of AI application development patterns and techniques
  • Take end-to-end ownership of new features with other teams
  • Work with multiple programming languages including Python, TypeScript, Java, and Go
  • Serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns
  • Work directly with the developer community to debug issues and get feedback on Temporal features and APIs
  • Write public technical documentation describing Temporal concepts and APIs
  • Support customers when engineering expertise is needed
  • Travel to meet coworkers once or twice a year
  • Optionally attend developer conferences

What they require

  • 8+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience and passion for harnessing generative AI, particularly for agents and coding
  • Deep understanding of how to use AI to increase quality, not only quantity
  • Strong taste in code and software development practice
  • Track record of open source software contributions, including contributions to third-party libraries
  • Fluency in multiple programming languages and affinity for learning new ones
  • Deep experience with concurrent programming and safe use of mutexes, atomics, and other concurrency primitives
  • Experience designing APIs and writing documentation for publicly available libraries or modules
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or closely related degree, or equivalent production-grade software experience
