What you'll do

  • Work collaboratively and independently to design and deliver solutions for software and services on cloud-hosted production infrastructure
  • Review and provide feedback on solutions delivered by other engineers
  • Shape how mission-critical enterprise software solutions are developed and deployed using optimized and automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Help design, build, and support cloud infrastructure and security technologies for resiliency, observability, and optimized cost
  • Communicate proactively and effectively to different audiences within the company
  • Share experience, knowledge, and expertise with others to help them grow and develop
  • Participate in planning work and identify areas of improvement
  • Perform technology evaluation and selection
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for maintenance of cloud solutions

What they require

  • Experience in scalable, distributed systems architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
  • Experience with programming using Go (Golang)
  • Experience with Kubernetes for orchestration and Docker for containerization
  • Experience defining and implementing automated service deployments, including provisions for networking, security, reliability, management, reporting, and configuration management
  • In-depth understanding of best practices for deployment automation
  • Experience using Git in a team environment, including pull requests, branching, push, and pulls
  • CS degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: In-depth understanding of networking, including routing, naming, security, network performance, and network failure modes
  • Preferred: In-depth understanding of identity and access management
  • Preferred: Experience with instrumentation and management of automated deployments
  • Preferred: Experience resolving customer deployment issues
  • Preferred: Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Preferred: Understanding of CI/CD processes and some experience building CI/CD pipelines
