What you'll do

  • Drive the technical strategy and delivery of Airbnb's pricing product roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data Science to architect scalable solutions with clear domain boundaries.
  • Enhance the performance, efficiency, and impact of end-to-end architecture.
  • Architect and lead the technical strategy for pricing and availability backend systems.
  • Ensure APIs, services, and data pipelines are robust and evolve alongside business needs.
  • Lead the development and optimization of Airbnb’s core pricing and availability products.
  • Collaborate with product engineers and cross-functional partners to develop new host pricing functionality and calendar management tools.
  • Contribute to the long-term backend system architecture within the Host Pricing organization.
  • Establish architectural standards.
  • Mentor senior engineers to elevate the organization's technical maturity.

What they require

  • 9+ years of engineering experience with a BS/MS or PhD in CS or similar.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, setting technical strategy, and launching high-impact product features.
  • Expertise with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional partners and engineering teams.
  • Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and production debugging abilities.
  • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
  • The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
