What you'll do

  • Create and maintain technical requirements for battery energy storage control systems and Power Conversion Systems (PCS) in line with company goals and industry standards.
  • Develop a set of security requirements and templates.
  • Review and ensure project-specific requirements for control systems and Power Conversion Systems are met.
  • Negotiate and develop comprehensive requirements management strategies tailored to specific client needs and industry requirements.
  • Track applicable standards, analyze their implications on our products, and communicate these to the R&D, commercial, and engineering teams.
  • Assist in finding solutions to challenges related to certification testing.
  • Read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions to examine test samples.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities within our products, developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Report regularly to the business team and relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Utilize and maintain AI tools for developing technical requirements.
  • Utilize and maintain version control tools for requirements traceability, auditability, and change management.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in the design and implementation of global compliance standards for products such as SCADA and EMS, batteries, electrical systems, HVAC, inverters, or other industrial products.
  • Knowledge of UL & IEC requirements.
  • Knowledge of NERC-CIP cyber security requirements.
  • Experience with regional and global regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of battery-related standards such as IEC62619, UL1973, IEC62933-5-1/-2, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA855, ISO-27019.
  • Proven success in working independently, handling multiple tasks, and determining priorities in a team environment, balanced by an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines or functional groups.
  • Deep understanding of battery systems.
  • Experience with technical requirements drafting.
  • Strong technical and analytical abilities.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on execution.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
