What you'll do
- Provide executive-level leadership across large, complex engineering programs, ensuring alignment with client strategy, technical requirements, and organizational goals.
- Develop and manage program governance structures, communication frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and decision-making processes.
- Oversee program schedules, milestones, interdependencies, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent engineering projects.
- Identify program-level risks, constraints, and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies to maintain program performance and continuity.
- Lead cross-functional coordination among engineering, operations, quality, safety, facilities, and other technical teams to ensure cohesive program execution.
- Review engineering documentation, design packages, technical deliverables, and program requirements, providing guidance and direction as needed.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams, external partners, contractors, and client leadership to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making.
- Lead program steering committees, technical working groups, and executive-level program reviews.
- Ensure program activities comply with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
- Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking, ensuring alignment with client expectations and long-term planning.
- Oversee program-level change management processes, ensuring impacts are evaluated, documented, and communicated.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, program optimization strategies, and long-term engineering planning.
- Support commissioning, validation, and operational readiness activities at a program level when applicable.
- Prepare program dashboards, executive summaries, and performance reports to communicate progress, risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Serve as a senior advisor to clients, offering guidance on engineering strategy, program structure, organizational readiness, and best practices.
What they require
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, or related discipline) or a related technical field preferred.
- 18+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or senior technical leadership roles.
- Extensive experience managing large, complex engineering programs involving multiple projects, stakeholders, and technical disciplines.
- Experience working in regulated or technically intensive environments such as biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, or advanced manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of engineering processes, design coordination, technical documentation, and cross-functional program dependencies.
- Experience leading program governance, risk management, resource planning, and stakeholder communication at a senior level.
- Experience supporting or overseeing commissioning, validation, or operational readiness activities is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, and safety teams to ensure cohesive program execution.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and organizational levels.
- Proficiency with program and project management tools and methodologies.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of solving complex technical and organizational challenges.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive program execution in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
