Sr Director Analyst - ERP Strategy (Remote - U.S.) Remote - United States This is an individual contributor role, based remotely in the U.S. About the role: Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel clients’ businesses toward key objectives. A Director publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events. What you will do: Deliver impactful insight to guide clients to the best actions for them and their organizations. 40% of your work week will be spent on virtual client calls with a wide variety of companies and governments. On these calls you will answer questions such as – How do we manage custom ERP extensions using platform as a service (PaaS)? or should we adopt a single- or multiple-vendor ERP strategy? Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts (15% of work week). Predict how specific markets are developing, help clients in their selection process and assist vendors in overall positioning Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and reframe challenging client questions. Identify the root cause of a client’s barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward Use the research insights gained to create high quality, clear, actionable, “must-have” papers, presentations, and videos (30% of your work week). Content is based on research best practices and methodologies Deliver insights in virtual and face-to-face client interactions. Deliver presentations at Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings Collaborate. Actively participate in research communities to develop and refine ideas. Provide high quality and timely research content peer review. Be able to help your team develop consensus research positions. Proactively support internal stakeholders (e.g. Research Engagement Services (RES), Sales and Service) to serve and retain clients and to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business Develop new research and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs and requests that accelerate the client's ability to act Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts Build credibility as a domain or industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy Be a mentor and a coach to team members. What you will need: 12+ years of experience as a member of an IT organization, or as an employee of a vendor focused on ERP. This experience will include developing strategy, business systems integration, vendor evaluation and selection and the operation, upgrade, and evolution of the ERP domain. Experience implementing cloud applications from vendors such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft. Basic knowledge of ERP instance and consolidation strategy. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred. Executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with technology executives Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions Ability to learn, and the willingness to take a position Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global and matrixed team Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables Demonstrate superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks to client challenges Strong business and financial acumen Subject matter expertise comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements Learning agile and adept with navigating highly matrixed environments Ability to effectively adjust communication style to different audiences Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable) #LI-REMOTE #LI-LE2 Who are we? Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
