What you'll do

  • Own and continuously improve Scout's new store opening playbook, readiness standards, and launch governance processes.
  • Lead operational execution of new Workshop and Connection Center launches.
  • Develop and manage detailed project timelines, milestones, and schedules with construction, facilities, IT, HR, legal, service, and sales teams.
  • Ensure physical and operational components such as equipment, inventory, systems, signage, and safety infrastructure are in place on time.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for retail launch operations, store readiness, operational deployment, and launch best practices.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting and Learning & Development to support onboarding and ramp-up of retail and service teams.
  • Coordinate training schedules across vehicle operations, customer delivery, service workflows, and safety procedures.
  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions, mock scenarios, and operational walkthroughs to ensure team readiness.
  • Partner with service leadership to confirm SOPs and technical training resources are in place before launch.
  • Evaluate launch risks, establish mitigation plans, and drive issue resolution across stakeholders.
  • Work with digital and IT teams to manage go-live support for systems across sales, delivery, and service.
  • Support day-to-day retail operations of the office location, including opening and closing procedures, customer interactions, reservation support, ordering supplies, office management, and document management.
  • Oversee site readiness activities including facility setup, equipment installation, vehicle logistics, merchandising, shop tooling, and IT infrastructure for front-of-house and back-of-house functions.
  • Provide final operational launch sign-off for assigned locations.
  • Support launch events, customer-facing activations, and grand opening activities, including coordination and onsite execution.
  • Provide evening and weekend coverage as needed for event delivery and customer experience.
  • Ensure service bays, parts storage, and technician work areas meet launch requirements with service operations and facilities teams.
  • Lead soft launch activities such as role plays, test drives, mock repairs, and delivery simulations.
  • Conduct post-opening assessments.
  • Identify root causes and trends after openings.
  • Implement improvements that enhance future store launch performance.
  • Provide on-site stabilization support for 30–60 days post-launch to reinforce training, SOPs, and team execution.
  • Travel up to 75%.
  • Convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company.
  • Support new store openings, launch events, customer-facing activations, and other business-critical milestones with schedule flexibility.

What they require

  • 7+ years of experience in new store openings, retail operations, network deployment, or launch management.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing medium to large teams in retail or automotive environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, retail management, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: project management certification.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency leveraging AI tools to maintain high productivity, identify operational efficiencies, and build scalable resources such as templates, trackers, and automated workflows that support new store opening execution and cross-functional team performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environments.
  • Adaptable and proactive, comfortable with change and able to thrive in dynamic settings.
  • Team-oriented and personable, while maintaining independence and accountability.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Schedule flexibility to support new store openings, launch events, customer-facing activations, and other business-critical milestones.
  • Evening and weekend coverage may be required based on business needs and event schedules.
