Requires ~5 years billing/insurance experience and ability to process good faith estimates, patient payments, and out-of-network authorizations. What you'll do

  • Work Epic WQs and reports containing scheduled services to identify and verify non-contracted coverage assignment, uninsured and self pay services.
  • Complete the good faith estimate process in Epic for scheduled self pay services, uninsured patients and patients with non-contracted plans in specific settings.
  • Communicate with patients and process payments prior to service date.
  • Work with division, clinical and scheduling teams on the Epic referral triage process.
  • Engage with pre-arrival, pre-certification and WUPN staff to secure out of network authorizations and single case agreements; ensure services are canceled if authorizations cannot be obtained.
  • Routinely interact with physicians, clinical staff, department and division administrators and personnel.
  • Serve as the liaison for the department, division, patients and affiliated hospital systems to coordinate notify, consent, signature, estimate delivery, OON authorization and single case agreement when applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What they require

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Billing or Insurance experience (5 Years).
  • Ability to perform duties in a manner consistent with the institution's mission and guiding principles.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug screen, employment/education verification, physical exam, vaccinations and/or registry checks as applicable).
