Software Engineer Intern

Role OverviewIntellinesia Labs is an independent research lab focused on transforming complex real-world challenges into elegant software solutions. We're looking for an AI-first Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the design, development, and testing of software solutions that support the lab's research initiatives. You'll work primarily in our JavaScript/TypeScript stack, while integrating LLMs and AI frameworks into real workflows. This is a remote internship role, offering flexible collaboration across distributed teams and exposure to research-driven product development.ResponsibilitiesBuild and ship features across the frontend and backend using our JavaScript/TypeScript stackIntegrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into product workflows — prompting, tool use, structured outputs, streamingWork with AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, or similar) to prototype and productionize AI featuresUse AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as part of your daily workflowWrite clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviewsCollaborate with mentors and team members across distributed, remote teamsRequirementsFoundational knowledge of Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principlesStrong fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands-on experience in a modern frontend framework (React, Next.js, Vue) and/or Node.js backendGenuine interest in AI/LLM development — coursework, side projects, hackathons, or personal experimentation all countExperience or coursework in software development practices such as version control, testing, and documentationBasic understanding or interest in back-end web development, including APIs, databases, and server-side technologiesCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldAbility to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with a distributed teamNice to HaveExperience with Python and/or Go, especially for AI/ML tooling, scripting, or backend servicesExposure to vector databases, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflowsPrior internship, freelance, or open-source software experienceSkillsJavaScriptTypeScriptReact.jsNode.jsLLMs
