What you'll do

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the software engineering team to achieve high performance and professional growth.
  • Own delivery planning, sprint execution, and release management, ensuring timely and high-quality software releases.
  • Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to define the roadmap and translate requirements into actionable plans.
  • Drive architecture decisions, enforce code quality standards, and champion engineering best practices.
  • Oversee production reliability and incident response, and contribute hands-on to backend and frontend codebases with a focus on AWS integrations.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field 6 or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and coaching software engineers and 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience writing production code.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch); proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Backend development experience with .NET or Node.js and frontend development experience with React and TypeScript; experience leading Agile/Scrum delivery and release management.
  • Eligible to work in Canada; ability to travel occasionally (approximately 4 trips per year) to Mississauga or Waterloo, Ontario.
