Role overview Remote Recruitment is looking for a Social Media Assistant to support a UK-based employer from anywhere in South Africa. You will keep the content calendar moving — scheduling posts, writing captions, replying to comments, and pulling together the numbers that show what is working. If you already run social accounts and enjoy the day-to-day rhythm of it, this will suit you. Key responsibilities Schedule and publish posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok Write captions and short-form copy in the brand voice Monitor comments and direct messages, and respond within agreed timeframes Source and lightly edit images and short video clips Pull monthly performance reports on reach, engagement, and follower growth What you will need One or more years managing social accounts for a business or client Strong written English and a good eye for a clean feed Experience with scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite Familiarity with Canva or similar for basic design and edits A reliable computer and stable fibre or LTE internet Availability 09:00 to 17:00 UK time (11:00 to 19:00 SAST) What is on offer R12,000 to R17,000 per month, depending on experience 100% remote — no commute, no office UK hours, so your mornings and evenings stay yours Paid leave and UK public holidays Direct work with a UK brand and a real portfolio to show for it Apply through Remote Recruitment with your CV and links to accounts you have managed. How the day works You will start by clearing overnight comments and messages, then move on to scheduled content and any ad-hoc posts the team needs. Once a week you will sit in on a short planning call to agree the next set of themes. There is no cold calling and no sales target attached to this role — the focus is on consistent, well-written content and quick, friendly replies. Remote Recruitment places South African talent with UK employers on long-term contracts, so you will be building a relationship with one brand rather than juggling many.
