What you'll do

  • Map the current end-to-end grantmaking workflow in Salesforce, including all approval stages, landoffs, and points of manual effort.
  • Identify where the process creates unnecessary burden for GFC staff and grantee partners.
  • Assess how well the current system and process reflect GFC's trust-based, partner-centered conveying generosity, proportionality of due diligence, flexibility, responsiveness.
  • Capture and assess the experience of navigating the grantmaking storeees from three perspectives: grantmaking operational role, internal program team member, and grantee partner.
  • Review current grantmaking operations manual, due diligence, and other documents for ease of use and alignment.
  • Recommend specific, actionable process improvements and Salesforce configuration /workflow changes.
  • Benchmark against peer trust-based and international intermediary funders.
  • Recommend a future grantmaking operations team structure and produced contributions.
  • Recommend on how the grantmaking operations function should relate to other functions like Finance and Learning & Evaluation.

What they require

  • Significant experience in grantmaking processes within a foundation or philanthropic intermediary.
  • Hands-on functional Salesforce experience for grantmaking, ideally with the Nonprofit Success Pack.
  • Familiarity with trust-based and participatory grantmaking and an ability to balance efficiency and partner-centered values.
  • Experience with funders operating across multiple countries or regions, including cross-border due diligence, currency, and legal considerations.
  • Track record advising on team structure, role design, and staffing models in philanthropy.
  • Process mapping and change management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills (interviews, focus groups).
  • Clear, concise written and visual communication.
  • Cultural and regional sensitivity working with organizations across Africa, Asia, Europe & Central Asia, and the Americas.
