What you'll do

  • Own annual and off-cycle compensation cycles in Workday from planning and configuration through execution, auditing, and close
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for Workday Compensation including salary plans, grade profiles, merit and bonus plans, and advanced compensation features
  • Partner with Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance, and Payroll to translate compensation strategy into scalable Workday configuration
  • Lead requirements gathering, design, build, test, and deployment of compensation-related enhancements, releases, and new functionality
  • Build and maintain test plans and regression suites and ensure data integrity across compensation processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve compensation system issues as an escalation point for People Systems and HR Operations
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve compensation workflows and reporting
  • Produce documentation including process flows, configuration guides, and training materials
  • Evaluate Workday roadmap updates and new features for the compensation domain
  • Support broader People Systems project demands across HCM, Payroll, and Benefits

What they require

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience
  • At least 3+ years focused on Workday Compensation configuration and administration
  • Proven track record leading end-to-end compensation cycles including merit, bonus, and equity at a large, fast-paced company
  • Deep expertise in Workday Compensation concepts including salary plans, grade profiles, compensation eligibility rules, compensation review cycles, and worksheets
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles and HR data
  • Experience translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical configurations
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working with EIBs, calculated fields, and Workday reporting
  • Strong communication skills for non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth, fast-changing environment
  • Working knowledge of adjacent Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, or Benefits
  • Experience supporting global compensation programs across multiple countries and currencies is a plus
