What you'll do

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the health and lifestyle industries.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients as the primary point of contact.
  • Develop comprehensive PR strategies tailored to each client's objectives and target audience.
  • Oversee implementation of PR campaigns, including media relations, thought leadership, crisis communications, and executive visibility programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of PR professionals specializing in health and lifestyle services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key health and lifestyle media contacts and secure placements in top-tier outlets.
  • Position clients as industry thought leaders through content development, speaking opportunities, and event participation.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect client reputations.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Own the practice's account management rhythm with structured weekly business reviews and account health scoring.
  • Bring practice-level retention into the top quartile through service delivery and save-the-account interventions.
  • Develop and execute recurring expansion plays to drive monthly MRR expansion.
  • Lead and develop the existing healthcare team through coaching, selective recruiting, and accountability for delivery quality.
  • Build a productized healthcare service offering that leverages the Interviewed platform (competitive intelligence, regulatory media monitoring, KOL targeting, payer narrative tracking).
  • Win new healthcare clients in partnership with the new business team across biotech, pharma, medical devices, hospitals/health systems, digital health, and consumer wellness.
  • Represent the practice externally at industry events and in healthcare communications publications.

What they require

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on the healthcare and lifestyle industries.
  • Proven track record of managing PR campaigns for healthcare clients with measurable results in media placements and client satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate complex healthcare concepts.
  • Strategic thinker with deep understanding of the healthcare industry.
  • Extensive network of media contacts across healthcare business, trade, clinical, and consumer publications.
  • Demonstrated specialty depth in at least three of: FDA and regulatory communications; biotech and pharma; medical devices; hospital and health systems; payer relations; clinical trial communications; digital health; healthcare policy.
  • Documented track record of measurable client retention and expansion (able to describe outcomes in numbers).
  • Comfortable carrying gross revenue retention, net revenue retention, and expansion as primary KPIs.
  • Comfortable with AI-driven workflows and a data-disciplined approach to earned media.
  • Work from anywhere in the U.S.
