What you'll do

  • Underwrite alongside the customer; embed in a carrier or reinsurer's actual book (Florida wind, California wildfire, Texas hail) and run Prometheus against their in-force exposure to find where the incumbent model is wrong, proving it at parcel resolution.
  • Author a one-page memo to a Chief Actuary that diagnoses a loss ratio divergence, concedes appropriate points, and recommends a decision.
  • Create the category, account by account; argue that a budget line should exist and land the argument as a recognized peer.
  • Turn field learnings back into product roadmap input with direct access to engineering and the CEO.
  • Diagnose divergence between models and clearly state which is responsible and why.
  • Own the account, the technical argument, and the number; act as the primary Neural Earth practitioner in customer meetings and engagements.

What they require

  • 6 to 9 years inside a carrier, reinsurer, or MGA: pricing actuary, underwriting manager, cat modeling lead, or portfolio manager. Carrier-side first, longer than any vendor tenure.
  • Personal ownership of a loss ratio, a rate filing, or a treaty renewal. Able to name the book, the state, the year, and the number.
  • Practitioner fluency in Touchstone, RMS, or AIR, as a user who distrusted an output, not someone who sold or integrated one.
  • A real network at the decision layer: fifteen or more Chief Actuaries, Chief Underwriting Officers, and Heads of Cat Modeling who would take a call today.
  • Ability to accommodate travel as needed (~40%).
  • You have sat in the seat we are selling into: owned a loss ratio, defended a rate filing, and watched a vendor model tell you something about your own book that you knew was wrong.
  • Personal ownership of a loss ratio, defended a rate filing, and can name the book, the state, the year, and the number (reiterated requirement).
  • Write: have argued a position and shown the math in a memo, a filing narrative, or a whitepaper, anything longer than a slide.
  • You bring 6 to 9 years inside a carrier, reinsurer, or MGA: pricing actuary, underwriting manager, cat modeling lead, or portfolio manager. Carrier-side first, longer than any vendor tenure (reiterated).
