Job Overview:
Opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual with strong written communication skills to join an expanding Business Development and Proposal shop for a rapidly growing IT Services firm specializing in Data Science, Data Analytics, Application Development and Modernization, and Digital Transformation. The Proposal Writer should have extensive experience translating technical solutions into a compelling story which highlights our value proposition while keeping the customer's challenges and needs at the heart of our proposals. The ideal candidate would have prior experience with Technical or Proposal writing, and a technical/IT background or understanding is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading development of compliant, compelling technical proposal content that clearly and concisely executes on the strategic response plan with an emphasis on customer insight through research
- Will perform duties in close collaboration with the Capture Lead, Proposal Manager, Account Team, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Solution Architects (SAs), and other authors
- Facilitates meetings with SMEs/SAs to capture solution information for development of compliant proposal sections and take ownership of crafting the Technical Approach
- Conducts interviews with SMEs/SAs to translate technical solution ideas into easily understood terms in the written response
- Manages content development to meet color review expectations and executes quality control functions for compliance with RFx and proposal design standards
- Will work actively with the Proposal Manager to plan for and build several repositories of re-usable content and other artifacts which will maximize the efficiency of proposal content development and increase the internal knowledge base.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with excellent English language skills
- 3-5 years’ experience in proposal or technical writing for US government proposals
- Shipley or equivalent training or certification highly desired
- Strong working knowledge of word processing software and MS Excel
- Experience creating/editing compelling graphics using Microsoft PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Good strategic planning abilities
