The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our growing tax practice. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and experience preparing both business and individual tax returns. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance services while supporting our commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and client service.
What you'll do:
- Prepare and review business and individual tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
- Complete tax compliance work for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and individuals.
- Prepare tax workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial statements and make necessary tax adjustments.
- Convert accrual-basis financial statements to cash basis when required.
- Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve accounting and tax issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure client deadlines are met and deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with tax planning projects and other client advisory initiatives as opportunities arise.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business and individual tax compliance and preparation.
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal tax law and accounting best practices.
- Solid accounting foundation with the ability to read and interpret financial statements.
- Experience with accrual-to-cash adjustments and book-to-tax differences.
- Experience with ProConnect Tax is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Nice to haves
- CPA, CPA candidate, or Enrolled Agent (EA) is a plus.
- Experience working with small businesses and business owners.
- Familiarity with tax planning concepts beyond compliance.
- Experience in a public accounting environment.
