What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end hiring process for Engineering, Product, and Technical roles globally.
  • Guide candidates from initial talent screen through offer stage.
  • Serve as the first EMEA-based technical recruiter and build practices to hire engineering talent across the region.
  • Stay aligned with US-based People Ops and Engineering teams while adapting to local market norms.
  • Proactively source and engage passive talent from open source, Kubernetes, and developer tool communities, including hard-to-find software engineers.
  • Build high-quality pipelines so the company does not rely solely on inbound applicants for critical technical roles.
  • Champion the structured interview process.
  • Ensure scorecards are used effectively to reduce bias.
  • Maintain strict data integrity within Ashby to inform hiring decisions.
  • Drive an exceptional candidate experience through transparent communication.
  • Treat candidates with customer-centric speed and ensure decisions are made in days, not months.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define technical requirements and ideal talent profiles.
  • Consult on market trends and closing strategies for hard-to-fill engineering roles.

What they require

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience for technical roles such as Software Engineering, DevOps or Platform, and Product within a high-growth tech startup.
  • Technical fluency, including understanding the difference between a container and a cluster and being comfortable discussing technologies like Kubernetes, Go, and Terraform with candidates.
  • Track record of closing hard-to-find engineering talent and building pipelines when obvious channels come up empty.
  • Based in Germany and ready to be one of vCluster Labs' first hires on the ground in Europe.
  • Able to work across European and US time zones as needed.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and refining processes to make them more efficient while standing up new technical hiring practices for the region.
  • Data-centric approach, using data and analytics to track pipeline health and inform decision-making.
  • High EQ and active listening; effective communicator who listens to understand candidates and hiring managers.
  • Preferred: Experience recruiting for open source technology, developer tools, or Kubernetes-focused companies.
  • Preferred: Background in hiring for distributed, remote-first engineering teams.
  • Preferred: Experience beyond recruiting, such as HR operations, employee relations, or onboarding.
