What you'll do

  • Own the real-time telemetry and dispatch path — the full data path from the edge through streaming ingestion and into the warehouse and out to asset dispatch
  • Define service-level objectives, build freshness and gap detection, ensure silent data loss becomes an actionable alert
  • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure as code with Terraform; operate containerized services on ECS and Lambda and manage orchestration, networking, secrets, and access control
  • Design systems with failure modes, blast radius, observability, capacity, and recovery in mind
  • Advance an AI-first software development lifecycle — fast CI, hermetic test infrastructure, preview environments, progressive delivery, automated guardrails
  • Establish cost controls and verification workflows for autonomous development systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation for systems that dispatch instructions to a physical plant; build observability, alerting, and response processes; define escalation paths
  • Treat infrastructure as an internal product—create self-service tools, paved paths, and platform capabilities

What they require

  • Deep production infrastructure experience — several years building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale
  • Hands-on SRE experience — primary on-call responsibility for a production system, plus at least one zero-downtime migration involving a stateful, always-on service
  • Experience in industrial technology, energy, robotics, automotive, or similar environments where software failures have operational consequences
  • Internal-product mindset — built self-service tooling engineers chose to adopt
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or both
  • Practical experience with AI development tools and a thoughtful view on where they work, fail, and must be reviewed
  • Sound operational judgment — proportionate safeguards, not process for process's sake
  • A willingness to learn across the stack — deep experience with industrial protocols is valuable but not required

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Equity compensation in the form of stock options
  • Premium health benefits package with life and disability insurance
  • 401(K) plan with employer contributions
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Flexible and inclusive paid time off policy plus paid volunteer time off
