What you'll do

  • Turn fleet data into clear, defensible guidance that helps fleet managers and leaders make high-level decisions.
  • Deliver high quality reports, dashboards, agentic workflows, and data insights to customers that are accurate and performant.
  • Work closely with the Data Team to implement solutions that surface data and insights via data products, including the analytics platform and AI powered features.
  • Take part in designing and engineering the future of data products at Fleetio.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to consistently deliver high-quality software.
  • Engage in collaborative design and architecture of features.
  • Take part in planning, designing, and implementing solutions for Reporting, Advanced Analytics and agentic modules within Fleetio.
  • Produce well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
  • Research and implement prototypes and spikes as necessary to validate assumptions and technical feasibility.
  • Express your opinions to help drive development and planning processes.
  • Thoroughly review peers' code to ensure quality, maintain consistency, and share knowledge.

What they require

  • Strong proficiency in full-stack development and working with large data sets.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Adept at working with databases, particularly Postgres and Snowflake.
  • Experience working with data to build quality insights and analytics solutions.
  • Strong but loosely held opinions about architecture.
  • Experience integrating 3rd-party tools and APIs into a product with a focus on abstraction, maintainability, and a seamless user experience.
  • Passionate about solving business problems with scalable architecture in mind.
  • Product-minded and team-oriented, willing to hear others' opinions and educate on best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written.
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • 3+ years of experience with ReactJS, TypeScript.
  • Experience working with data to craft thoughtful solutions to surface reports, analytics, and metrics.
  • Experience writing and optimizing complex queries using SQL, CTEs, and ActiveRecord/Arel.
  • Firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
  • Strong expertise with data modeling and optimizing query performance.
  • Strong experience solving challenging architecture problems.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks.
