No BS summary

Senior backend engineer for Enode’s EV connectivity platform. Needs experience building maintainable, testable backend code, especially API/integration-heavy systems, and day-to-day fluency or fast adoption of AI engineering tools. Remote role with applicant location requirement stated as Norway.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain API integrations with OEMs and energy partners, ensuring they are reliable, performant, and well tested.
  • Strengthen the connectivity platform by reducing incidents and improving observability, monitoring, and alerting, including the automations and internal tools that make this easier.
  • Take on complex projects and drive them through to release, breaking them into actionable work and delivering with limited hand-holding.
  • Help hold a high bar on code quality, testing, and observability, caring about the state of the codebase beyond your own changes.
  • Work with product and the team to align platform priorities, balancing stability with delivery.
  • Take ownership beyond your own work and support the engineers around you, sharing knowledge and contributing to technical decisions that keep the team aligned.

What they require

  • Senior Backend Engineer.
  • Fluent with AI as a strategic lever for engineering work, using it day to day, understanding where it helps and where it falls short, or eager to get there fast.
  • Experience writing maintainable, testable backend code, ideally in an environment with a lot of API or integration work.
  • Excited about platform engineering in the product sense: building the connectivity layer that powers integrations, not managing infrastructure or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Enjoy building new integrations and making existing systems more reliable and observable.
  • Systematic about debugging issues across services and preventing them from recurring.
  • Communicate clearly, contribute to technical discussions, and explain complex topics to non technical stakeholders.
  • Take ownership beyond your own work and care about the team.
  • Share knowledge, support teammates, and help improve how the team operates.

  • Opportunity to join and impact an early-stage climate tech startup with global aspirations as it scales.
