What you'll do

  • Own an integration end to end, including design, code, and the production system after launch.
  • Set technical defaults and make early technical decisions for a growing team.
  • Own architecture for auth and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement, data residency, performance, and production behavior.
  • Run what you build, including on-call ownership, infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability.
  • Work on top of external platforms you cannot change and manage risks across those platforms.
  • Partner with internal teams whose services you depend on, agree on interfaces, and keep work moving.
  • Form and document opinions about the team's technical direction.

What they require

  • 5+ years building software, with significant experience on data-heavy or integration-flavored systems.
  • Solid backend and systems instincts.
  • Ability to reason about deployment topology, multi-tenancy, and data movement.
  • Comfort owning architectural tradeoffs.
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries.
  • Experience building on someone else's platform, including dealing with incomplete documentation and breaking changes.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, shipping before specs are finished, making sensible calls under uncertainty, and flagging hard-to-undo decisions.
  • Ability to work well with other engineers and earn trust across teams you do not own.
  • Mainly a backend engineer, but comfortable enough in JavaScript / TypeScript to jump in when useful.
  • Uses AI tools well and honestly.
  • Writes well for design docs, PRs, and RFCs.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with a major cloud data or analytics platform ecosystem.
  • Preferred: Real depth in auth and identity federation, or experience shipping through a partner marketplace or certification process.
  • Preferred: Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms, or the isolation and deployment topology behind them.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of another columnar / OLAP engine.
