OUR MISSION
Imagine building a better healthcare journey for patients with cancer, where individuals and their loved ones feel seen, supported, and heard by their care team – both in and out of the clinic. Where fast access to high-quality care is the norm, not the exception. Where patients have access to a care navigator to guide them through their diagnosis and trusted support all along the way.
At Thyme Care, we share a passion for transforming the cancer care experience – not just for patients but also for their caregivers and loved ones, as well as those delivering and paying for their care. Today, Thyme Care is known predominantly as a cancer care navigation company enabling value-based cancer care; in the next few years, we will become a nationally recognized technology-driven and provider-centric care delivery model, reshaping the landscape of cancer care access, delivery, and experience. Our commitment runs deep—we're not satisfied with the status quo but determined to redefine it.
To make this happen, we’re building a diverse team of problem solvers and critical thinkers to drive innovation and shape the future of healthcare. If you share our vision and want to be part of something truly meaningful, we want to hear from you. Together, we can revolutionize cancer care and make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Thyme Box is the primary tool that enables 600+ Care Team members to deliver clinical and non-clinical navigation services to members every day.
Additionally, you will:
- Connect with and add to our collaborative, agile team, and learn our tech stack inside and out.
- Wrap your head around our business model at a high level and develop a deep empathy for the challenges our care team faces in supporting our members.
- Independently plan, build, and deliver multiple features within the Thyme Box product, from concept through launch and iteration.
- Partner closely with Product to scope experiments and shape new product ideas that improve outcomes for our members.
- Work closely with oncology leaders to help them solve quickly evolving business problems through creative, elegant technical solutions.
- Play a key role in building the technology that enables our oncology care team to surface ancillary benefit programs and services more efficiently.
- Help create an intuitive user interface that allows our care team to triage patient touch points, from hospitalizations to changes in chemotherapy.
- Surface data from multiple sources, including user inputs, to keep the care team as up-to-date as possible on their patients.
- Take ownership of both technical solutions and the growth of the engineering team by mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
- You have 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting software in production.
- You’ve worked in fast-paced, early stage environments. You’re comfortable iterating quickly to make decisions and deliver value to others.
- You have strong experience with web development. You’ve built single-page applications in stacks similar to ours: Vue.js/TypeScript, FastAPI/Python, and Postgres.
- You’ve taken ownership of features from idea to production, including design, implementation, testing, and ongoing improvements.
- You’ve collaborated closely with engineers, product, and cross-functional partners and can clearly communicate technical tradeoffs and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have, but not required:
- You’ve used and contributed to AI tooling that supports developer productivity, code quality, and engineering best practices.
- You have prior experience working in healthcare or health tech.
WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS
- Comfort with ambiguity. You thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve and problems aren’t fully defined. You take ownership, bias toward action, and are comfortable making progress with imperfect information, while maintaining a high bar for quality as products and teams mature.
- Curiosity. You have a drive to understand how things work and love sharing that knowledge with others. You’re energized by learning new technologies, improving systems, and helping your teammates grow.
- People-first. Thyme Care’s mission and members matter to you, deeply. You’re an empathetic teammate who communicates clearly, collaborates across disciplines, and values giving and receiving thoughtful feedback. You care about building products that improve people’s lives as much as you care about helping your teammates succeed.
- Net-new development. You've built and deployed web applications from the ground up. You can deploy and operate services in a Cloud environment with ease and a good fundamental understanding of networking. Our stack includes Python (FastAPI), Postgres, and AWS, but experience with similar technologies is welcome.
- Engineering fundamentals. You know how to deploy software engineering best practices, such as unit tests, code reviews, and design documentation. You have also worked with user interface design. Working in the Healthcare ecosystem is a plus!
