We are seeking a Senior Safety Software Engineer to play a critical role in implementing a functionally safe perception system, bridging cutting-edge technology and functional safety principles in a fully remote role with options for hybrid work.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement robust, highly reliable software for safety-critical systems using both traditional functional safety techniques and emerging deep learning safety techniques.
  • Partner with our machine learning, hardware, and core software teams to ensure that data pipelines, models, and middleware operate within defined safety envelopes.
  • Develop and optimize software running on both Linux and real-time operating systems.
  • Create rigorous testing frameworks and validation strategies to prove system reliability and safety under edge-case scenarios.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers on safety-critical coding standards and best practices.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with focus on systems level or embedded systems programming.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong internal drive for quality and reliability.
