What you'll do

  • Manages large, complex projects and programs simultaneously, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and long-term (3-5 year) roadmaps.
  • Follows the established project management methodologies, policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a mentor and provide guidance and direction to other project managers.
  • Supports the PMO through upholding the team values and ensuring all tools, templates, and systems are kept current and working efficiently.
  • Leverages expertise to identify issues in troubled projects or programs and implements solutions to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Ensures programs and projects meet objectives while supporting the overall organizational roadmap and driving business process optimization.
  • Defines, tracks, and reports on measurable outcomes for projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks across projects; escalates critical issues to stakeholders while proposing actionable solutions.
  • Leads cross-functional teams with a continuous improvement mindset to deliver impactful results across departments.
  • Analyzes, summarizes, and presents project status, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior leadership; works cross-functionally to gain alignment and drive action.
  • Drives continuous improvement by evaluating current processes and recommending enhancements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Works with Program Managers to direct program activities ensuring all projects remain on track and support overall program goals.
  • Completes and reviews reports related to the Project Management Office as directed by leadership.
  • Influences internal and external contacts regarding policies, procedures, or practices to align with organizational objectives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What they require

  • High school diploma (GED equivalent).
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in project management, including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk, managing cross-functional teams in a financial or operations environment, and developing effective business solutions that align with company and business unit/department objectives.
  • Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
  • Full-time 40 hours a week.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field of study
  • Knowledge and skill using project management software.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the credit union’s core and ancillary systems to perform the job.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations codes and standards related to the area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with area Vice Presidents, Directors, Branch Managers, and employees.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems with successful outcomes.
  • Establish program goals and objectives that support the credit union’s strategic plan.
  • Keep current with industry and regulatory changes and trends.
  • Lead complex internal projects efforts to completion through development of cross-functional, collaborative relationships with internal team members.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Use good judgment and make decisions within scope of job.
  • Work under pressure or stress, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines with frequent changes to priority status.
