What you'll do

  • Infrastructure Direction: Align on business priorities and technical direction for vMetal, and translate that into specs engineering can execute against.
  • Product Leadership Partnership: Work directly with the Head of Product and engineering leadership on the tradeoffs that determine where vMetal goes next.
  • Hands-on Validation: Run alpha and beta builds yourself, including against real bare metal hardware where possible. Catch integration issues before customers do.
  • Customer Intelligence: Engage directly with platform engineers at AI Cloud operators and hyperscalers running bare metal at scale.
  • Market Positioning: Track the bare metal and GPU infrastructure ecosystem. Sharpen the narrative for technical buyers and partner with GTM on messaging that lands.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Bridge engineering, sales, and marketing so what we ship matches how we sell and support it.

What they require

  • Experience: 5+ years in product management in cloud infrastructure, bare metal, or GPU/HPC platforms. You've shipped something other engineers depend on in production.
  • Infrastructure Fluency: You understand bare metal provisioning, out-of-band server management (Redfish, IPMI), and PXE boot well enough to make informed product tradeoffs.
  • Kubernetes Familiarity: You're comfortable with Kubernetes fundamentals, pods, controllers, CRDs, and the operator pattern, and can hold a credible technical conversation with engineers.
  • Customer-Facing Infra Experience: You've sat across from platform engineers and architects, and you're comfortable in that conversation.
  • Preferred: Kubernetes-as-a-Service: Built a KaaS offering at a cloud provider, vendor, or large internal platform team.
  • Preferred: Internal Developer Platforms: Platform PM experience building IDPs that abstract infrastructure complexity for developer teams.
  • Preferred: Startup Growth: Adaptable to startup pace and change.
