What you'll do
- Own product design for the student learning experience end-to-end: from problem framing through delivery in a Product Trio with a PM and EM.
- Set the illustration and motion bar for all of Miaplaza: standards, motion principles, and character direction for other designers and the design system.
- Art-direct AI-assisted production: build prompts, references, and review processes to scale quality illustration and motion.
- Be accountable for how design decisions land product-wise, including pedagogical, technical, and business trade-offs.
- Report to the Head of UX with regular 1:1s covering craft, product, and career growth.
What they require
- A portfolio of shipped digital product work — not only concepts or standalone pieces.
- At least 2 years working inside a product team, collaborating with PMs and engineers.
- Strong illustration or motion skills, with at least 1 year focused on either as a primary craft.
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Some experience directing or guiding visual work produced by others — freelancers, junior designers, or AI tools.
- Preferred: Deep motion skills in product contexts: interactions, transitions, onboarding, character animation.
- Preferred: Experience using AI image or motion tools as production accelerators.
- Preferred: Confidence running your own usability research.
- Preferred: Multi-brand or education-focused design experience.
- Preferred: Accessibility practice, especially for neurodivergent audiences.
Benefits
- Pay: €60.000 to €90.000 annually, adjusted by experience and location.
- 100% remote (EMEA) with team gatherings in person a few times a year.
- If you need accommodations at any point in the process, Miaplaza will provide them.
